Little green men infested the school on March 17th.

Leprechaun infestation

Children panicked as leprechauns took over the school on St. Patrick’s Day.

There were rumors of tiny green men taking over the Cannon Falls school. Painted rainbows were spotted leading into the art room. Gold colored items slowly disappeared.

On March 17, the buses dropped the students off at school. It was like any normal school day. However, something was a little off; the school looked like it just got painted shiny green. The glint and messiness of the school looked like it was carelessly painted. Most of the students were confused as they entered the school. Others looked like they were finally going to enjoy the school day.

Inside the school, all the floors were covered in slippery rainbow paint leading to each classroom. It was out of the ordinary, but the students just assumed that this year’s St. Patrick’s Day decorations from the student council were extra special. The strange part was the fact that there were tiny red-headed men decked out in green and gold attire standing outside each classroom. A seventh grader, Jessica Wu, said, “I thought these were fake leprechaun sculptures. I went to pet one but it reached for my hand. I was scared out of my mind.”

The first bell rang and most people went to class, however no teachers were in sight. Instead they seemed to be replaced by leprechauns. “At first I thought the teachers were trying to pull a prank on us, but it got scary when the leprechauns threatened our life if we didn’t give them gold,” another seventh grader, Joanna Wu, reported. Some people tried to leave the classrooms but somehow a pack of leprechauns blocked the doorways.

Give us gold, we will let you go,” they allegedly repeated over and over again. Suddenly, around third hour, the fire alarm went off. Everyone started to cover their ears. The students took the distraction as an excuse to escape. The leprechauns were too distracted by the sound, they didn’t realize that the students were leaving. Finally, after a few minutes, the fire alarm was turned off. Most students were outside the school. The leprechauns all ran up to the school’s roof. They announced over the school’s PA system:, “We will be back.”

All the students went home and tried to explain the day’s events to their parents “They didn’t believe me, now I am grounded. Those leprechauns ruined my life,” a tenth grader, Lily Bahr said. Some of the students showed up the next day, but everything went back to normal and everyone was still confused, but relieved.
