CFHS dons pink for breast cancer awareness month

It is time to bust out the pink because this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and everyone should help raise money and awareness for a noble cause. The Cannon Falls high school student council is collecting money during Thursday ramp-up periods to donate directly to the national Breast Cancer Society. Money will be collected in each ramp-up for the whole month of October. The ramp-up class who raises the most money gets donuts. Plus, everyone gets to feel good knowing that they are helping the fight against breast cancer. Student council is doing a lot this month to help raise awareness for breast cancer.

Whenever somebody drives past the front of the high school they can see the spirit rock, painted pink, and sporting the iconic breast cancer ribbon. The rock is there to remind everyone to do their part and help this month. Mrs. Dahlen, the high school student council advisor, in an interview, explained how everyone should come out and do their part to help support the Breast Cancer society and anyone with breast cancer. Mrs. Dahlen also commented, “Since it is high school students, donuts are a good incentive.” Breast cancer affects more than just those suffering from it but also their friends and family. Uniting the school in the fight against breast cancer lets our community do more to support anyone affected by cancer. So don’t forget to put your pink on on Wednesdays and donate money during ramp-up Thursdays to help support a great cause and maybe win some donuts.
